Necessary sponsorship income (wife and children)

In most cases, there is no specific amount of income to be eligible for spousal and child sponsorship, it is only necessary to show that there is enough money to meet the needs of the sponsored person.

Only if you are the sponsor of a child who has a child himself, or if you sponsor a spouse who has a dependent child and whose child also has a child, you must show that you have enough income (based on the minimum income table based on the number of family members).

Sponsorship of parents, grandmother, and grandfather

In 2021, the process of accepting sponsorship programs for parents and grandparents will be slightly different, and the Immigration Department will randomly select people from among those who have expressed their desire for sponsorship in 2020, to complete 30,000 applications. Achieved in this program.

If you are invited to submit a sponsorship application (parents, grandparents), you must complete two types of applications.

1- Sponsorship application

If these two requests are accepted by the Canadian Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Department, you will sign an agreement whose obligations will start from the day they receive permanent residence.

To be eligible for Canadian citizens or permanent residents of this country to accept the support or sponsorship of parents or grandparents, in addition to having the general conditions that exist for sponsorship, you must also have the following conditions:

1- For a continuous period of three years, have the minimum annual income declared by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.

2- Sign a commitment letter (for 20 years) to provide full financial support to their parents or grandparents, as well as, from the time they obtain permanent Canadian residency, any financial or social assistance given to these people refund the amount paid and return it to the Government of Canada.

In order to determine that the sponsor has the required financial requirements, the following rules and conditions must be applied:

1- Only official documents issued by the Canada Revenue Agency are accepted to show the minimum required income for the last three years.

2- If another person (such as the sponsor’s spouse or life partner) also participates and is present among the signatories of the financial support program, the total income of the second signatory and the main sponsor is calculated jointly.
